Park Bo Gum Joins Samsung in Bringing the Galaxy S9 and S9+ to Malaysia

Samsung is never one to back down from the limelight. This time, the company took centre stage in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur to launch their brand new flagship device, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+. The star studded event drew a humungous which even caused a grid lock outside the mall as fans spilled over to the streets.

The launch event saw Malaysian YouTube celebrities, Jinny Boy and Reuben Kang show off the camera on the Galaxy S9 and S9+. The duo showcased the super slow motion feature which allows users to shoot video of up to 960 frames per second. This means like super, super slow. In addition, the duo also showed off the AR Emoji feature which allows you to make a digital version of yourself. The Galaxy S9 and S9+ also creates 18 GIFs which you can then send to your friends on any messaging and social media platform.

Of course, Jinny Boy and Reuben Kang weren’t the only celebrities at the event. Also present was star of new movie, “Think Big, Big”, Serene Lim. Serene, together with Jinny and Reuben, introduced the star that the crowd was waiting for, Park Bo Gum.

Korean drama enthusiasts will undoubtedly be familiar with Park Bo Gum ( 박보검). He’s shot to stardom thanks to the diverse range of characters he has played in numerous K-dramas over the years. The young star shot to popularity thanks to his outstanding performance in “Hello Monster” as a psychopathic lawyer. His following performance as the genius Go-player, Choi Taek in Reply 1988 proved that the Park Bo Gum was here to stay.

The South Korean star took time off to make the trip to Malaysia to launch the S9 and S9+. He’s the official embassador for the new Samsung flagship. As ambassador, Bo Gum shared his favourite features of the S9 and S9+. Three lucky fans were able to shoot a super-slow motion video with the star. Amidst screams from fans, the star was still able to show off his Malay prowess and also share his favourite moment to shoot a super-slow motion video.

As part of the launch of the Galaxy S9 and S9+, Samsung Malaysia will be holding roadshows at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Queensbay Mall in Penang and Aeon Bandar Dato Onn in Johor Baru. For the duration of the roadshow, which kicks off today, 16 March, until Sunday, 18 March, new Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ owners will be eligible for a Samsung Gifts; this includes a free Samsung Wireless Charging Stand worth RM279, 30% off the Samsung Gear Sport and also an RM50 discount on a slew of phone covers. Those looking to purchase theirnew Galaxy S9 and/or S9+ will also be able to take advantage of Samsung’s trade up programme which offers extra trade-up value of up to RM400 towards their S9 or S9+ purchase.
