Razer, the ultimate lifestyle brand for gamers, is back with another one-of-a-kind collaboration that’s sure to turn heads: even if they are acid green and belong to snakes! This time, they’ve teamed up with the iconic Japanese streetwear brand, EVISU, a Japanese denim brand that was founded in 1991 by Hidehiko Yamane.

The brand is known for its high-quality denim jeans, which feature intricate embroidery and unique designs inspired by Japanese culture. EVISU has a strong following among fashion-conscious consumers, particularly in Asia and Europe. But why is Razer going the way of denim?

Well, it’s no secret that denim is having a moment right now. From high fashion runways to streetwear, denim is back and better than ever. And with people from all walks of life becoming gamers and the community growing more interested in fashion, it only makes sense to combine the two.

The Razer | EVISU Apparel collection is a three-part capsule that combines EVISU’s iconic motifs with a gamer twist. It features EVISU’s signature seagull logo and Daicock insert. And of course, Razer’s triple-headed snake logo is prominently featured in their signature acid green color.

If you value comfortable clothing that doesn’t restrict movement, the carrot leg jeans in the collection are designed to be roomier around the thigh area, while the black hoodie and tee are obviously versatile and can be mixed and matched to be worn in a range of temperatures.

Look, it’s a well known fact that gamers want the best possible tools to help them perform at their highest level, and they are willing to invest time and money into finding the perfect setup. This is hardly their first apparel collab. Last year’s project with BAPE included glow in the dark sneakers and shark zip hoodies, plus 2022 also saw Razer going notably pink with Hello Kitty. It seems obvious to work with another Japanese brand, and leaning into the reemergence of denim this year, they’re taking things to the next level with EVISU.

In continuing the culture of teaming up with brands that fit the vibe of the community, Razer gets to engage the emotion and desire for a relevant visual style even if gamers are always seeking to improve their technical gear and stay ahead of the competition.

With a 30+ year legacy, EVISU is as old as many pioneer gamers themselves. The age of this back story has grown the lore behind the brand.
